boom. is a tight creative community based in Perth. Support these guys at their fundraising night and experience new footage from documentary filmmaker Ben Stewart. Stewart’s features a piece on the band Cease when they played at various gigs around Perth. The film captures their unique style of drone metal.

For the small note of $10 gets you a copy of the boom. publication, entry to the screening and performances by Taco Leg, Cease and Wind Waker.

First show for colourful artist

Billions, Zillions and Trillions is the first solo exhibition of self-taught colourful artist Alexandra Lekias.

 

Lekias’ work is wonderful with vivid splashes of colour mixed with black and white ink. Influences include 15th Century Iconic art, German Expressionist cinema, Japanese Manga as well as the works of Art Nouveau artist Aubrey Beardsley.

Uno Strano Sogno (A strange dream) by Emiliano Roia presents works of a dream-like suburban house.

 

Jackson Eaton’s show called oh +ve is a love story set in South Korea.

The Condor Tower - A New Contemporary Art Space In A Car Park

A unique contemporary art space incorporated in the everyday premise of a car park will be launched in Perth July 25.

The Condor Tower car park, over the last 12 months, has been transformed into a celebration of modern art managed by the creative collective ololo.

ololo has brought together over 50 local and national artists to reinvent what’s normally regarded as a uninspiring, desolate space.

Featuring young to established artists including: Stormie Mills, Reka One, Creepy, Yok, Pat Doherty, Daek, DrewFunk, Trevor6025, Kid Zoom, Timothy Rollin, Hurben, Showbiz, Shime, Jodee, Knowles, THNK, RegID and Griv.

Support and celebrate this important street space meets art movement that has been labelled one of the largest permanent spaces in the southern hemisphere!

Committee for Perth - Presents Their First Project!

Over the last 6 months around 500 people associated with the arts and cultural industries have got together to discuss important cultural issues designed to create a new vision for arts and culture in WA.

Hear the launch report inspired by these talks. This is a chance to hear and involve yourself in this important process.

The first talk: A cultural compact for Western Australia the 10 year challenge Phase 1: Perth.
