It’s Cold Up There is designed to engage the viewers in sublime, embodied and beatific works. Digital film artist Kate Faulds produces layered works using synthesized digital video, animation and drawing which are then projected onto multiple surfaces.

Earth from Above is an aerial portrait of our beautiful and inspiring planet. This ambitious project was the brainchild of French photographer

Yann Arthus-Bertrand, the result a thought-provoking, educational and entertaining exhibition.

 

See the show 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in an open-air exhibition featuring 120 large-scale images.

Your priest and her video camera are there for you. Confess as many times as you like. Priest Jen Jamieson has been known to weep, be kind, flirtatious, serious and angry but mainly she listens.

 

Jen Jamieson’s The Booth first appeared in the festival club in 2002. It returns in 2008 as a mobile unit that pops up all over the festival, so get your confessions ready.

Walk into a public lab for the exhibition Silent Barrage. The night showcases sixty sculptural robotic objects, all responding to electric activity occurring in a living network of rat neurons.

 

Silent Barrage culminates six years of research by Phil Gamblen and Guy Ben-Ary with the aim to discover the artistic and philosophical implications of an entity made of a ‘living brain’ controlling a robot body.

Revelation Film Festival - Eat For this Is My Body

Eat For This Is My Body

Your Perth cultural calendar isn’t complete without experiencing the signifcant Revelation Film Festival. Now in its eleventh year the festival showcases a range of distinct and progressive short, feature, documentary, archival and animated works that are at the forefront of contemporary underground filmmaking.

Runs July 3 - 13.

Island of Lost Souls - Opening Night Feature

The festival has become a significant film festival on the Australian calendar. Each year Revelation audiences grows as locals and visitors to Perth support the festivals progressive and eclectic program. A playful approach to the festival’s lineup is their ethos with pop, youth culture to individual and acclaimed films the emphasised.

 

Freakshow

The event was founded by Richard Sowada who has gained a reputation as one of Australia’s most respected independent film curators and screen event organisers. In 2008 Jack Sargeant is guest Program Director. Sargeant is known for crossing all forms and genres when programming a festival, which leads to a dynamic and experimental experience.
